Fresh off a record-shattering season and a PRCA World Championship at the age of 20, Riley Webb aims to replicate the back-to-back success of fellow Texan Caleb Smidt, the tie-down roping champion of 2021 and 2022.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, $11,500

Webb placed first or second on each of his first four runs in San Antonio with four straight times of 8.0 seconds or faster. That included a 7.5, his fastest run of the rodeo, to win the Second Semifinal.

San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, $15,103

Webb had made a blistering 6.9-second run to open the rodeo with a Round 1 win seven tenths of a second. His next best time would be an 8.2 in the Finals, but his three-head total of 25.7 seconds was still enough for fourth place and the $6,000+ payday that came with it.

Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, $10,655

Webb’s Round 1 time of 10 flat earned him a share of second place, but he followed it up with a blazing 8.7 in Round 2—the fastest run of the rodeo by seven tenths. With a total of 18.7 seconds on two, he cruised to victory, well ahead of the 21.1 posted by the nearest competitor.

Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, $13,000

Webb delivered one of the most impressive back-to-back performances of the tie-down roping season. His 6.9-second run in the Long Round not only secured the win but also clocked in 1.4 seconds faster than any other run. He followed it up with a 7.3 in the Finals, splitting first with Haven Meged. Thanks to the tiebreaker, Webb claimed the Gold Medal, edging out his fellow Top 4 ranked roper.

Dodge City Roundup, $10,704

Just 10 days after the conclusion of the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, Webb dominated another Playoff Series event, this time in Kansas. He was between 8.4 and 8.6 seconds on all three of his runs and never placed worse than fourth in a round. All told, his 25.5 seconds on three was more than a second clear of World No. 3 Ty Harris.

Ellensburg Rodeo, $9,125

Webb bounced back from not placing in Round 1 by winning the Second Round with a 7.5 and splitting the Finals with an 8.8 to finish third in the Average behind Hunter Herrin and Seth Hall, the two cowboys he shared the Finals win with.
